Cyber stalking is a relatively new phenomenon considering the history of stalking is probably as old as humanity itself. Our new system of communication and information gathering has opened the doors to many people who were either traditional stalkers or newcomers to this activity to become armchair cyber stalkers.

The reasons for cyber stalking remain the same as conventional stalking. The stalker wants to exert control over their victims. In many cases the cyber stalker has a prior relationship with the victim. In a lot of cases stalking begins when one of the party ends the relationship. One would think that it is normally the male, if he is the one being jilted, who starts the online harassment/cyber stalking. But statistics are showing that a growing number of females are now the cyber stalkers. The internet gives the stalker a safe physical distance from their victim. In the past it would not have been common for a female to physically stalk their male victim purely because of the stronger male doing physical damage to the female. The internet era now gives the cyber stalker the ability to inflict pain on their victim from the safety of home.

Another aspect that the internet has provided is the ease of a troll or cyber stalker to collect personal information and target strangers as victims. These people suffer from psychological problems and feel the need to satiate their desires at the expense of complete strangers. This form of online harassment and cyber stalking is purely for the gratification of the stalker.

The best way for a victim to not give the cyber stalker gratification is to NOT respond to any emails, posts, messages, etc. but in most cases this is very difficult for any victim who is feeling very stressed and wants the whole episode to end. It is always a good idea to get help from family and friends for both moral and technical support. Sometimes it is necessary to get professional assistance if the victim is feeling desperate.

My Cyber Stalker

by Christopher Bennetts on January 3, 2013

I have never actually met my cyber stalker and he started his internet stalking activities long before he added me to his list of victims and there have been many more since myself.

The profile I have of him is a sad and bitter 60 year old man that recognizes his life has been one big failure and with no real friends this lonely sociopath has turned to the internet to try to give his life some purpose.

The only release from his pathetic and meaningless existence for this angry frustrated sociopath is the fantasy that he is on a mission to clean up the expat community of the Philippines.  The reality is he just wants to project his own misery and suffering on others.  He will be in denial as he reads this but deep down he will know it’s the truth…

My cyber stalker is a sick tormented man that spends most of his waking hours
on the internet making up lies and harassing innocent people

My cyber stalker lived in the Philippines for a brief period but his business failed and he fled the country leaving a long line of angry creditors along.

He was also a member of  Rotary but resigned after accusations that he was caught with his fingers in the cookie jar stealing FUNDS meant to feed hungry children and supplying it to his relative’s Sari Sari (small general store). I can only speculate that he decided the best strategy to deflect any accusations was to quickly launch counter accusation at the entire Rotary organization in the Philippines accusing it of being corrupt.  He especially focused on the Rotary Village Aid Program (VAP), an Australian Rotary organization that had donated the food he was accused of stealing.

He is now living in France with no chance of returning to the Philippines. The resentment and bitterness of this 60 year old failure grew intense and he continually broadened his attacks on Rotary to be personal and without any basis in reality.

It was at this stage that I came into his spotlight.  I was having a problem with a real psychopath criminal who today is still at large with four outstanding arrest warrants.   Because I was a President of a Rotary club he sided with this psychopathic criminal and published a web page attacking me with the most false and ridiculous accusations.

I initially responded rebutting all his allegations but on the personal advice of friends in the legal profession took my responses offline and simply ignored him.   The NUMBER ONE RULE when dealing with a Cyber Stalker is DO NOT ENGAGE OR RESPOND.   That is what they are there for.

My cyber stalker turned his attention to the expat community at large in the Philippines attacking anyone that took his bait and has since been building a huge network of hate sites.

My cyber stalker claims he is on a mission to rid the Philippines of undesirable elements from the expat community.  It’s funny how he attempts to take the high moral ground that based on his own track record he has no entitlement to.

This is actually a common trait.

Liars accuse others of lying – cheats accuse others of cheating
thieves accuse others of stealing etc

He is actually doing the Philippines a great disservice by harassing and accusing innocent people as this muddies the waters making it more difficult to identify and act against the few real undesirable elements engaged in abusive activities like the psychopathic criminal he sided with against me.
